About BOSS
BOSS — the Bhanushali Overseas Support System — exists to make sure no member of our community ever navigates life abroad alone.
Our Purpose
BOSS takes pride in getting inspired in founding the Bhanushali Overseas Support System from Pandit Shyamji Krishna Varma and his founding of the India House in London. India House served as a stepping stone for Indian Students in Britain. Indians faced racism while in Britain and India House provided the support system for these students, the network to get work while in London and build a foundation. The purpose of BOSS is the same, to provide the guidance from India and build many virtual India House’s across the world to support the Bhanushali community to become truly global citizens.
Our Inspiration
Shyamji Krishna Varma — Indian freedom fighter, scholar, and the first Indian to hold a law professorship in England — founded India House in London in 1905 as a home and support network for Indian students studying far from home.
India House gave arriving students a community, mentorship, and a place to belong. BOSS is built in that same spirit: our community abroad lifting the next generation, wherever in the world they land.

Message from our Trustee
As we gather for BOSS 9.0 on July 12, 2026, at Bhanushali Wadi, Ghatkopar, it is inspiring to reflect on how far this movement has come.
When the first BOSS event was organized, few could have imagined that a small initiative would grow into such a powerful and far-reaching platform. What began as a sapling has today blossomed into a thriving tree, creating opportunities and meaningful connections for hundreds of young Bhanushalis pursuing education and careers abroad.
Over the years, this movement has built a strong global network spanning 38 countries, bringing together Bhanushalis across continents and fostering a spirit of mentorship, support, and community. Its impact has been so significant that it has also contributed to the establishment of the Bhanushali Trust in North America, further strengthening our global presence and commitment to helping future generations.
The success of BOSS is a testament to the vision, dedication, and collective efforts of countless individuals who have contributed to this journey. I extend my heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to the entire teams of OEF and SKBSST, along with all the volunteers, donors, mentors, and supporters whose unwavering commitment has made this initiative a remarkable success.
I wish BOSS 9.0 every success and am confident that this year’s event will continue to inspire, guide, and empower many more young minds as they embark on their global journeys.
Best wishes for a successful and memorable event.
Regards,
LK Gajra
Trustee
How BOSS Began
BOSS started in 2018 with a single presentation and seminar for Bhanushali students considering studying abroad. The need was clear: students had questions about visas, universities, and life in a new country — and our community had members who had already lived those answers.
What began as an annual gathering grew into a year-round network of coordinators, mentors, and community members spanning dozens of countries — and, now, into this digital platform.
How We Work
From the moment a student considers going abroad, the community is there — and graduates return to support the next generation.
Sign up with your email or Google account. Takes under 5 minutes.
BOSS connects you with a coordinator in your destination country who reaches out directly.
Your coordinator confirms your arrival and checks in after your first week.
Graduates are invited to become coordinators and support the next generation.
Our Journey
From a single seminar in 2018 to a global platform — every milestone built on the one before it.
